Best Friend

My best friend's name is Skylar Canizares. We met on an online website called Gaia Online when we were about 11 or 12 years old. We became friends through our mutual friends, Anddie, Cherika, and Ellie. We would spend most of our time roleplaying as different characters that we had created and developed, developing stories of our own that we could share. Skye is a good friend because she's always been there for me when I needed help or comfort, even if she does live all the way in Miami, Florida. We spend hours talking together every day and have for many years. I would do anything to help her and she would do the same for me. We actually plan to move in together and rent an apartment when we graduate, so we should remain friends for a long time. Skye is special because she is a wonderful artist and is always able to pull through bad situations. She can be moody at times, but always corrects her mistakes and apologizes for her temper. Skye and I are best friends and we plan to stay that way for a very long time.

Uglies Post #1 Setting

These two images are what I believe depict the settings of The Uglies. The first image represents New Pretty Town, where all the Pretties live, while the second picture represents Uglyville, where all the Uglies live. I believe the first picture represents New Pretty Town because they describe it as being a futuristic, urban area filled with lights and sounds. The Pretties stay up as late as they want and sleep in as late as they want. Their lives are constant parties and I believe their town would be gorgeously lit such as in the picture. The Uglies live in Uglyville. They must go to bed and stay awake at certain times, go to school, and not have any true fun or throw any parties. I believe Uglyville would be drab and boring-looking such as the area shown in the second picture. These pictures match the visuals described in the book almost perfectly.
